According to a press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Western Central Regional Police Command and signed by ASP B. Turkson, the arrest was made by officers from the Asankrangwa Division at a Snap Check point along the Samreboi-Tanokrom stretch on July 31.

Daniel was on board a tricycle, locally known as Pragya, when he was intercepted with two travelling bags containing the compressed parcels.

During initial questioning, the suspect claimed he was only a courier and that the parcels were handed to him by an unidentified woman in Wenchi, to be delivered to a man at Mumuni Camp near Samreboi. He said he was paid GH₵5,000 for the service.

Police say investigations have commenced, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the said woman, believed to be linked to the narcotics.

Daniel Yeboah is scheduled to appear before the court on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The police are calling on the public to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of the alleged woman or further developments in the case.Source: Nana Esi Brew Monney
