Burkina Faso's President Joins Russia’s Victory Day Parade, Reaffirms Commitment to Anti-Terrorism and Strategic Partnership
On May 9, 2025, President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso participated in the 80th anniversary celebrations of Russia's victory over Nazi Germany, held in Moscow's Red Square.

This significant event underscored the enduring legacy of the Allied forces' triumph in World War II and highlighted the deepening ties between Burkina Faso and the Russian Federation.The grand parade featured over 11,500 soldiers, including international contingents, and showcased advanced military hardware such as drones and intercontinental ballistic missiles. President Traoré's attendance symbolized Burkina Faso's commitment to honouring historical alliances and its dedication to combating contemporary challenges like terrorism and imperialism.
