Laughter for Learning: Tarkwa Rotary Harnesses Comedy to Build a Brighter Future for Menhuntem

This celebratory fundraiser aims to furnish a newly completed six-unit classroom block, a project born from a previous comedy night’s success. With the walls now standing, the community is coming together once more to fill the classrooms with the essential tools for education.

“With the building now completed, this year’s edition seeks to raise additional funds to provide furniture and complete interior works to make the facility fully functional for teaching and learning,” explained Rotarian President Vivian Cudjoe of the Tarkwa Club. The event promises an unforgettable evening of comedy, featuring a stellar lineup of Ghana’s most beloved humorists. The entire uproarious crew from Kejetia vs Makola—Judge Louis Lamine, Clemento Suarez, Ado Dadzie, NGO, Jeneral Ntatia, and Lawyer Atopagh—will bring their signature chemistry to the stage. They will be joined by award-winning comedian Kwame Obed, who is fresh from preparing his maiden special, and the internationally acclaimed architect-turned-comedian, Ebenezer Dwomoh.

The occasion will be graced by a host of distinguished guests, including Past District Governor David Amankwah and the current District Governor, Nana Yaa Sirebo. The Municipal Chief Executive of Prestea Huni-Valley, Mr Matthew Ayeh, will attend as a guest of honour.

Adding a profound layer of purpose to the evening, renowned comedian and philanthropist Mr Oliver Khan, known as the Ship Dealer, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour and deliver a keynote address.

For the Rotary Club of Tarkwa, this event is more than just a show; it is a vibrant expression of their core mission. The project embodies Rotary’s ethos of “Service Above Self,” utilising creative and engaging methods to promote social development. By transforming comedy into classrooms, they are demonstrating that community spirit, combined with joyful celebration, can foster a brighter, more educated future for all.
