Tarkwa Nsuaem MP Collaborates with Energy Ministry to Address Transformer Shortages Amid Prolonged Power Outages

The Office of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality has announced urgent efforts to resolve persistent power outages plaguing 15 communities due to transformer failures.

In a public notice issued on Tuesday and signed by Sani Abdul-Aziz  personal Aide to Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor  
Member of Parliament Tarkwa Nsuaem, the MP’s office, revealed it is working closely with the Minister of Energy and Green Transition to secure and deploy new transformers, urging affected residents to remain patient as repairs unfold.  

Key Details:

The outages, attributed to failed transformers, have disrupted daily life and economic activities across the constituency. Communities impacted include AnomakoKrom, Kaprebakrom, the  House of Power area, Tamso Senyakrom, Simpa, Wassa Agona, Ahwitieso, Bogrekrom, Tarkwa Akyempim, Akyim, Brenuakyim, New Takoradi, Kwabedu New Site, Essaman Krakra, and the Space FM area. Specific transformer requirements range from one to three units per community, with the highest demand in Bogrekrom, Ahwitieso, and Essaman Krakra (three transformers each).  

Official Response:
Sani Abdul-Aziz, Personal Aide to MP Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, confirmed that the constituency office is prioritizing the crisis. “We recognize the severe hardship these outages have caused and are engaging proactively with the Energy Ministry to fast-track replacements,” he stated. While no timeline was provided, Abdul-Aziz emphasized that resolving the issue “permanently” remains the goal.  

Appeal to Residents:
The MP’s office appealed for calm, acknowledging frustrations but stressing that repairs require coordinated governmental action. “We urge communities to exercise restraint as we work diligently behind the scenes. Your cooperation is critical to restoring stable electricity,” the notice read.
