Gold Fields Engages Stakeholders in New Survey to Strengthen Trust and Sustainability

The mining giant announced that it has partnered with GlobeScan, an international insights and advisory consultancy, to conduct a follow-up survey tracking stakeholder perceptions of the company. This comes after similar baseline and tracking surveys were undertaken in 2021 and 2024, which informed several initiatives the company has since implemented.

Chief Executive Officer, Mike Fraser, emphasized that listening to stakeholders remains a cornerstone of Gold Fields’ sustainability journey.

“Understanding your perceptions and expectations—especially regarding factors that influence our reputation—is central to this commitment,” Mr. Fraser noted in the announcement dated Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The 2025 survey will be lighter in scope, taking approximately 10 minutes, and will be conducted independently by GlobeScan to ensure confidentiality. Participants may be contacted via telephone, with Gold Fields receiving only aggregated insights. The company believes this process will help strengthen relationships and identify areas for improvement.

Fraser added that the company remains grateful for the continued support and valuable input of stakeholders across its operations. Stakeholders with inquiries about the process have been directed to contact Thomas Mengel, a representative of the company.

The initiative reflects Gold Fields’ broader drive to embed transparency and accountability into its sustainability agenda, positioning it as a responsible mining leader in a sector facing increasing scrutiny.
