Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Hospital Now Open: Czech President Hands Over €71 Million Facility to Ghana
His-Excellency-Petr-Pavel,-President-of-the-Czech-Republic,-officially-commissioned-the-40-bed-Kpone-Katamanso-Municipal-Hospital-in-Ghana.-The-facility,-funded-with-€71-million-from-the-Czech-Republic,-is-set-to-enhance-healthcare-services-for-the-Kpone-community-and-its-surrounding-areas.
Key government officials attended the ceremony, including the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo.
In his speech, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Director-General of the Service, emphasized the significant economic and health benefits the hospital will bring to the local community. He praised the collaboration between Ghana and the Czech Republic, highlighting the importance of community ownership and facility maintenance. Prof. Akoriyea also called for continued efforts to build a resilient healthcare system to meet modern challenges.
The ceremony marked a major milestone in Ghana's efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure. Hon. Akandoh and Minister Ocloo reiterated the government's commitment to completing all ongoing health projects and achieving Universal Health Coverage by 2030, urging the community to take pride in the hospital and ensure its sustainability.
