AngloGold Iduapriem and LiMAP Mentor UMaT Final-Year Students for Career Readiness

The programme was held under the theme, "Becoming Employable in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation." It focused on equipping students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven labour market. The engagement exposed participants to the growing influence of artificial intelligence, innovation and digital transformation in the workplace. Chairing the program, was the Managing Director for Anglogold Iduapriem Mine, Dr. Daniel Boadi, who encouraged the graduands to look beyond the borders of the country. According to him, beyond the borders of the country are other countries where the mining industry is unattractive to young people, hence,  skills in mining and it’s related activities on the global market are on high deficit. 

He urged graduands to prepare themselves beyond academic qualifications by building exceptional valuable soft skills, practical experience, improving their professional networks and embracing innovation. He noted that employers increasingly seek graduates who can apply their knowledge creatively and adapt to changing industry demands.

The programme also provided an opportunity for the students to interact with experienced professionals and gain insights into career development, workplace expectations and the transition from university to employment.
