According to him, leaders who understand and demonstrate Christian values in their daily lives would help transform governance and improve the welfare of citizens.

Speaking in an interview on the sidelines of the Apostolic World Conference 2026 at the TAC Conference Centre in Accra, Apostle Ami-Narh stressed that the influence of the Gospel must extend beyond the pulpit and be reflected in the conduct and decisions of those entrusted with political authority.

Apostle Ami-Narh argued that Ghana’s development challenges could be addressed more effectively if the country had political leaders whose actions were guided by the teachings of Christ, particularly the values of honesty, integrity, selflessness, accountability and love for others.

“I think that the work politicians do and the work that the Church is supposed to do go in the same direction. It’s about people. It’s about their welfare, their good and the upliftment of a nation,” he said.

“I believe that if we get politicians who are true Christians, understand the message of the Gospel and are willing to show the love of God to others, this will be a great nation,” he stated.

“When I say real Christians, I mean people who have been discipled to live the life of Christ, and not people who wear the badge but don’t live the life.”

Citing the persistent problem of corruption in Ghana, Apostle Ami-Narh questioned how a country with a predominantly Christian population continues to struggle with unethical practices and a lack of integrity.

He maintained that the Church must take responsibility for teaching the undiluted Word of God rather than placing excessive emphasis on prosperity messages at the expense of character development and genuine Christian living.

“We talk about corruption in Ghana, but we are 71% Christian population, so who is corrupt and who is doing it? But if we disciple and turn away from just focusing on the prosperity message and begin to teach people the real word of God, if people understand who they are and they will know that their brother’s blessing is their blessing, we’ll go in the same direction,” he emphasised.
