Presiding Judge, Her Ladyship Hathia Ama Manu, ordered the suspects to be remanded for a period of two weeks. The case has been adjourned, and the twelve accused are scheduled to reappear before the court on October 22, 2025.
The remand underscores the gravity of the alleged offences, particularly the damage inflicted upon the Takoradi-Nsuta railway, a key artery for the transport of freight, including manganese, and a component of the country's broader rail network. Incidents of this nature disrupt economic activity and pose a threat to national infrastructure.
