The MCE of Tarkwa Nsuaem calls for deeper collaboration with Tarkwa authorities for successful development
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa/Nsuaem, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, who assumed office following his unanimous confirmation in April 2025 has rendered accounts of his stewardship to the government of Ghana and the citizenry of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality.
The meeting, which attracted journalists and community leaders, providing a platform for the MCE to highlight key
accomplishments and address ongoing challenges in the municipality.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Cobbinah expressed gratitude to the community for their support and collaboration. He emphasized that transparency and accountability are vital in his administration, stating that he believes it is essential to keep the public informed about His work and the strides the community are making together.
During the briefing, Hon. Cobbinah outlined several notable achievements which includes infrastructure, health, education initiatives, economic development, the fight against illegal mining among others, of which some were with private partnering with mining companies and other stakeholders.
Despite the many laudable achievements, challenges were inevitable as the MCE highlighted among others, ongoing community engagement efforts, aimed at soliciting feedback from residents. He underscored the importance of community involvement in decision-making processes, encouraging citizens to voice their concerns and suggestions to aid in smooth, effective and efficient execution of projects.
He also used the platform to plead with the Wassa Fiase traditional authorities, that in order to have a successful project and a community worth enviable, the traditional authorities should find measures to settle chieftaincy disputes and reinstate a ruling chief. The MCE believes that the traditional leaders have a critical role in executing project for the development of the community. He is therefore calling on the Wassa Fiase traditional authority to unite and reinstate a paramount chief to facilitate development.
The press briefing concluded with the MCE reiterating his commitment to serving the people of Tarkwa. The event provided an informative insight into the local government's efforts and set the tone for continued collaboration between the municipal administration and the community.
